It is 17oz, so it is a heavy weight and thick as a stone. And it is hard. At first, I had a hard time fastening the buttons. I didn’t buy a size that was on the edge, but rather because of its thickness and stiffness. I thought it was only the buttons that were hard, but even the pockets were so hard that I had a hard time putting cigarettes in the pockets at first.
The size is a little big for wearing over a T-shirt, but it is just right when you put on a thick sweater or a parka.
What was quite nice was that although it is denim fabric, the color did not migrate, probably because it is not dyed with indigo. In the past, I have stuck a leather wallet into a new pair of jeans and turned blue. The fabric is quite stiff and rubs against my innerwear, so I was horrified to think that it would have been dyed indigo.
It is good that it does not become too casual because the fabric is stiff and solid, though I say it is a habit of G-jacket.
Only the vest is sold on the Japanese site, and the jacket is sold only on overseas sites (as of 12/12/2023). The author bought this jacket in 2018 at the Inazuma festival in Okayama, Japan. I like it because I like the type of jackets that get better with time, but I don’t recommend it to those who prefer something easy to wear from the beginning.
The brand was established in 2002 and the founder is from Edwin. The brand focuses on heavyweight denim and strong fibers, and produces items for motorcyclists. The concept of the brand is “for motorcyclists,” and they also produce ultra-thick 25 oz. denim to protect motorcyclists.
