Size is omitted because we believe that shoes MUST be purchased after actually trying them on. However, the author’s feet are wide and have a low instep. Even if the size of my foot is just right, I often find that the wings are not fully closed, and the inside of the shoe is usually gouged at the little toe. Also, when I wear new leather shoes, the area between the first and second joints of my thumb is usually torn up. For reference.
They fit true to size when worn, except for the heel. The heel has some room up and down for taking them off.
They are quite difficult to take off. The author purchased them at a store in Houston and could not believe his ears when he was told that a special device for taking them off came out when he tried them on and that they were just the right size so that he could not easily take them off without it. I couldn’t believe my ears when he asked me how I would take them off at home. He told me to take them off by stepping on the heels. I tried it and found that I could put them on and take them off, but I had to put a lot of effort into it whether I put them on or take them off. I’ve worn them about 5 times so far, and I can already feel that they are getting accustomed to my feet, and I can imagine that they will be quite nice in the future.
The height is 10 in, which is relatively short, but it goes up to the middle of the shin, so if you wear slim pants, you have no choice but to put them in. Personally, I like to show them off well, so I choose to wear them with pants that look good with them on.
The leather is softer than most western boots. The original wrinkles of the leather are still there.
There are almost no decorations, and they are the simplest of all Lucchese western boots. I really wanted something more like a western boot, but after comparing practicality and price, I settled on this one. Now I think this was the best choice considering that I will wear them in Japan.
The Lucchese brothers, who were Italian immigrants, founded the company in 1883. In the long history of the company, many famous people have purchased the company’s boots, and Ronald Reagan gave the King of Morocco a pair of Lucchese boots as a gift, which were used on official U.S. occasions. The founder died while playing dominoes with his family. (Don’t write this on the official page.)
