Stow is Tricker’s most iconic men’s boot. Made originally as a country boot, but now worn by men all around the world across fields and cities. The Stow Derby ankle boot is instantly recognisable for its brogue patterning synonymous to Tricker’s; with its strong, solid build and seven eyelets that make it a best selling Tricker’s look. A half bellows tongue is folded and attached to the boot to provide a watertight seal, with the storm welt providing an additional watertight seal between the shoe’s upper and sole. Our classic Stow boot features leather linings and the option of either a traditional leather sole or a Dainite sole for more practicality.
Size is omitted because we believe that shoes MUST be purchased after actually trying them on. However, the author’s feet are wide and have a low instep. Even if the size of my foot is just right, I often find that the wings are not fully closed, and the inside of the shoe is usually gouged at the little toe. Also, when I wear new leather shoes, the area between the first and second joints of my thumb is usually torn up. For reference.
Tricker’s has two typical types of country boots: STOW and MALTON. The only difference between the two is said to be the finish of the welt. The difference is not so obvious to the untrained eye, and this difference may also vary depending on the store that handles them. To be honest, I don’t think you should be bothered by the difference in welt finish between STOW and MALTON, but you should choose by color.
First of all, the biggest thing I learned from these shoes is that dynamite soles are slippery. If you wear them in the city, you should be careful. Marble is much less slippery with leather soles. Why should I slip in country boots?
These shoes are a little big because I bought them online while I couldn’t check the size much in the store. However, since they are high-cut and can be tightened tightly, I have not felt it to be a problem.
The leather itself is thick but soft, so they fit well. Since there is no liner, it is better to wear long socks for a better feel. The inner sole is hard, and once you get used to wearing them, they become slippery. The grip between the sock and the inner sole is too slippery, which makes me a little nervous.
The leather absorbs well, and when cream is applied, the color darkens and then returns to its original color. Light rain, for example, will not stain it, but when I spilled sauce on it while walking around eating, I immediately cleaned it off as best I could.
When I checked on the Internet, it seems that the color of the boots would rather fade over time, but I don’t feel that the color of my boots has faded. (Of course, I maintain them with color cream.)
The medallions are black at first, but the black color comes off when they are polished hard. I was a little shocked at first, but soon stopped caring.
I don’t need to tell you how cool it looks. The reference 1 says it looks cool with jeans, but it also goes well with slacks and other more formal attire.
To be honest, for someone like me who is honestly unfamiliar with fashion, medallion boots in this color were a bit of a hurdle, but I’m glad I bought them. They are cool.
