The author visited Tanzania on his honeymoon. After much debate between the author, who wanted to go to Hawaii or Guam, and his wife, who wanted to go on a safari or to Easter Island because it was an opportunity like this, the author agreed to go if we could visit Ngorongoro Conservation Park. In the end, I think it cost twice as much as going to Hawaii, but I am glad we went.
As it is said to be an elephant paradise, we were able to see elephants moving in herds. Just seeing the elephants passing in front of and behind the safari vehicle made me feel like I was on a safari. Since it was my first safari, I remember I enjoyed seeing zebras, giraffes, and everything else.
The Park has remarkable attractions with large groups of Elephants, spectacular natural beauty of savanna landscape and magnificent majestic Baobabs. Over 550 different bird species have been recorded in the park, of which several are threatened or endemic.
We did not go on a safari here and only saw Lake Manyara from a distance. Even so, the large flock of flamingos swarming on the lake surface was spectacular.

I had been curious about this place ever since I saw it on “Wednesday Night Live. My wife wanted to go to Africa for our honeymoon, and although I was initially opposed to the idea, I agreed if we could go here. We entered from the edge of the caldera, and the view of the huge caldera below and the grasslands spreading out in the caldera was nothing short of breathtaking. The caldera that surrounds us after we descended was also wonderful, and the animals that we could see differed depending on the area, such as grasslands, wetlands, and forests. I heard that some animals have survived because they have been isolated from the outside world, and elephants come and go in and out of the caldera with their feet. I am really glad I went. Also, the cigarettes I smoked while looking at the caldera were really tasty.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a vast an untouched protected area teeming with the densest wildlife populations on earth, breathtaking landscapes, mountains, world’s largest unbroken caldera, history of human evolution, and so much more. One has to visit to see and believe it.
I spent the longest time here and was impressed by the variety of safaris we were able to take: by car, balloon, and on foot. On the car safari, in addition to the driver’s incredible eyesight, the exchange of information between the drivers allowed us to be quickly on the spot for rare animals and unusual scenes. In the balloon safari, we passed over places normally inaccessible by car, sometimes from a high altitude, sometimes as high as 3 meters above the ground. On foot, we enjoyed walking with Maasai people carrying spears for about 1~2 hours, and enjoyed seeing small animals that would have escaped if we had driven a car.
Serengeti National Park, a world-renown, World Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site that has many attractions than any other national park in Africa. The Great Migration, The Big Five, Unique Bird Collections, Endangered Species, Highest concentration of Carnivores and Herbivores, Scenic and Spectacular Landscapes are some of the attractions one will encounter!
The island where Queen vocalist Freddie Mercury was born. It is a resort area and Zambales City is safe and bustling. The orojo I ate at the market at night was a lime-flavored soup that I had never tasted before, but I still want to try it again. I also bought a canga (a local fabric) while walking around the city. I also bought a shirt made of canga (a local fabric, I think it was called something else) as a good souvenir.

A large number of boats are lined up on the shore of Zanzibar City and you will be approached, so negotiate appropriately and have them transport you. The prison is said to be an old prison, but it is now a paradise for tortoises. Countless turtles inhabit the island. The boat crew shows us around the island, and for a tip, we can feed them with cabbage, but they eat so fast that they seem to eat our fingers off. I was angered when I sat down because of the famous photo of a large recluse turtle perched on its perch. Incidentally, there were many individuals whose age was written on their shells and who looked over 100 years old.
The British First Minister of Zanzibar, Lloyd Mathews, purchased the island in 1893 and constructed a prison complex there. No prisoners were ever housed on the island and instead it became a quarantine station for yellow fever cases. The station was only occupied for around half of the year and the rest of the time it was a popular holiday destination. More recently, the island has become a government-owned tourist resort and houses a collection of endangered Aldabra giant tortoises which were originally a gift from the British governor of the Seychelles.
The restaurant is built on the sea. It is a bit fancy place to go by ferry during high tide, but when I visited, I was able to walk across normally. The food served at the restaurant was not so bad, but it was delicious to eat while looking at the beautiful sea. Incidentally, we drove from Zambales City to the Exal Hotel at the northern end of the island that day, and I must admit that I was a bit nervous about having lunch with my luggage in the car of a driver who caught me around the area.

The author made all his own arrangements, not a tour, so all car transfers are with a hotel driver. Boats are negotiated on the spot. Basically, any hotel in this area can arrange a driver for you. First, book a hotel online, then contact the hotel by e-mail and ask them to arrange a driver and inform you of the time schedule. Then all you have to do is find someone at the airport with a piece of paper with your name on it. To be honest, I was worried if the person from the hotel in Africa would be okay, but there was no problem at all. What made me anxious on the way was the domestic flight and on arrival. As for the domestic flight, I was worried about flying from a ragged place where there were almost no buildings. On arrival, I was worried if there was no driver. On the other hand, as long as I could find a driver, I felt safe because I could reach my destination even if I slept the rest of the way.
Arrived in Kilimanjaro and stayed overnight in Arusha city. It is a beautiful hotel with a tanzanite shop next door for tourists. Tanzanite is a blue gemstone from Tanzania, and its name has spread and its value has increased since Tiffany & Co.
This hotel stands on the edge of Ngorongoro Crater. There are only a few hotels built inside the conservation park, and the rooms themselves are simple, but the panoramic view of the crater in the morning is very pleasant. Since the hotel is located inside the conservation park, travel time from the hotel to the start of the safari is short, making it possible to make the most of your time. (If you are coming from a hotel outside the conservation park, your schedule will be affected by the opening and closing times of the conservation park.)
This is a famous luxury hotel in Japan. Anyway, the treatment is excellent, and champagne is served as much as you can ask for. When I arrived at the Seronera airport, I had a bottle to introduce the Serengeti, a bottle in my room after checking into the hotel after a light safari, a bottle when I landed after a balloon safari, and a bottle at the goal of my walking safari. It was the most champagne drinking days of my life. Basically everything is All Inclusive, so you can drink as much as you want. Every day we had lunch and dinner at a different restaurant, so that was also new. There was also an esthetic salon included. The rooms are naturally like a resort, and outside the room is a safari. You can see large animals such as giraffes and elephants from a distance. It is also good to be able to easily order activities such as balloon safaris and walking safaris, and the daily schedule is quite flexible, such as longer safaris or relaxing in the room. Of course, you will have your own driver during your stay, so if you say, “I want to see elephants,” they will take you to the place where elephants are! If you say, “I want to see elephants!

Google Map shows that the business is already closed, but it was a very nice place to explore Zanzibar City. About 5 minutes walk from Freddie Mercury’s birthplace.
Last honeymoon at the resort. The ocean is beautiful and you can do snorkeling and other activities. It was very nice to spend the last days relaxing. On the last day, we watched the sunrise before leaving the hotel. I forgot to put on sunscreen while snorkeling and suffered from sunburn from that night.
2.2 million yen for 11 nights and 12 days, including overnight stays. It may seem expensive for a honeymoon, but honestly speaking, it was worth it considering what we did. I think it is still cheap because we were able to stay at a hotel with a 30% discount due to a honeymoon discount. By the way, if you ask a travel agency to do this, you should expect the price to double to about 4 million yen. If you can speak English at least, it is much cheaper to book a hotel and consult directly with the hotel about driver arrangements.
